This silver medal was struck to commemorate the Convention of Altranstädt held on the 1st September 1707. This agreement gave religious freedom to Protestants in Silesia. The figure of Hope holding a palm and an anchor is carried aloft by an eagle. The inscription reads, 'The Hope of Better Times. Is it here?'.

Physical description
Medal, silver. Obv., a symbolical group of figures above which is the Imperial eagle. In the field the letters 'I A.' occur thrice. The pyramid is labelled 'Züchtig Gerecht Gottselig', and in the exergue are the words 'So geber dem Kaiser was des Kaisers ist, und Gott was Gottes ist 1708.' Rev., a figure of Hope, carrying a palm and an anchor unborne by an eagle to whose neck is attached a crown, with the letter I. Legend, 'Die Hoffnung besser Zeiten', and in the exergue 'Ist sie da?' [The Hope of Better times. Is it here?]
