The success of this 1980s wood-engraved design by artist Sue Scullard (born 1958) for Waitrose pate is reflected in the fact that it was still being used in 1995. Waitrose (a British supermarket chain) felt that wood-engraving and other non-photographic methods of illustration were most effective in suggesting that greater care was taken in the manufacture of a product.
