Production | Frederik van Frytom (1632-1702) was an independent landscape (panel) painter and decorator of Delftware. A member of the Delft guild of painters, he was the most accomplished of all Delftware painters. He specialised in painting refined landscapes on plaques like this, which had a purely decorative purpose and are indeed closer to panel paintings than to a piece of pottery or a tile. |
