Physical description
The dish has a shallow gently curving well and a broad rim approaching the horizontal. In the centre of the dish is a coat of arms (Parted per pale, two coats; first, a fleur de lys and waves in base; second, a stag, the whole surmounted by a helmet, mantling and a fleur de lys) painted with manganese outlines and blue washes. Above the coat of arms are the initials 'BH' and 'HR' and the date. The border decoration consists of scattered sprigs of flowers and leaves painted in blue.
