Trefoil mouth, fat belly contracting in a concave curve and spreading again at the foot. Loop handle. On the front is a posy of three flowers rudely painted in blue with purple outlines, in a wreath consisting of blue dots (berries) on the end of stalks.

Buff earthenware covered with a tin glaze and painted with flowers within a wreath. Italian (Faenza), early 15th century.

Rackham: Compare a jug from the wall of the church of the Osservanti, Imola. See Argnani, Rinascimento, where it is stated that many fragments of similar jugs were dug up on the site of the Casa Pirota, Faenza.
