Oval with lobed rim. The monogram 'T.D. v C' in floral letters under a coronet, occupies the middle of the dish and is surrounded by four shaped panels connected by festoons of flowers and painted with groups of fruit on a black ground.

Brief description
Dish of buff earthenware covered with a tin glaze and painted in colours. Probably made at the factory of Maria Lowenfinck. German, Ludwigsburg, about 1763-95.
Physical description
Oval with lobed rim. The monogram 'T.D. v C' in floral letters under a coronet, occupies the middle of the dish and is surrounded by four shaped panels connected by festoons of flowers and painted with groups of fruit on a black ground.

Object history
Originally thought to be French, Niderviller, about 1774-95 and to bear the monogram of the Comtesse de Custine, wife of the owner of the factory.
Historical context
Note in Register: A triangular dish, apparently from the same service, is in the Musée Céramique, Sevres.
Production
Frau de Becke was better known as Maria Löwenfinck.
