Baluster shape, with short narrow neck for a cover, now lost. On the front is painted a fantastic landscape, with buildings and a tree in the middle and two Chinese to either side. Stylised rocks and flowers frame the main design from each side; a bird and two moths are in the field. On the reverse, a palm-like tree and a moth.

Vase of buff earthenware covered with a tin glaze and painted in colours. Painted by Adam Ludwig. German, Höchst, about 1749-58.
Physical description
Baluster shape, with short narrow neck for a cover, now lost. On the front is painted a fantastic landscape, with buildings and a tree in the middle and two Chinese to either side. Stylised rocks and flowers frame the main design from each side; a bird and two moths are in the field. On the reverse, a palm-like tree and a moth.
