Large dish of tin-glazed earthenware painted in colours, depicting a seated Paris as a shepherd, accompanied by his dog, presenting a golden apple to Venus, draped in a green cloak and behind her the Juno and Pallas Athene, both in 16th-century dress. The border is painted in blue with grotesque ornament. On a rock in the foreground the inscription: Jodicio de paris'. The reverse is elaborately decorated with a scale pattern on the rim and a 'porcelain style' decoration within the footrim. In the centre a cartouche with the date '1527'.
