Historical context
(Note in Register) Nos. C.16 to C.22-1917 were found in the process of stock-taking in the Crypt in 1917. See Mr. Rackham's minute on 2 Feb. 1917 on R.P. 430/17. "It appears that these objects were offered as gifts by the Rev. Greville J. Chester (donor of a number of objects between 1865 and 1891, now, I believe, deceased) and were never registered. I think it would save trouble in the future if the objects could now be registered with a note as to the circumstances."
