Plate of buff earthenware covered with a tin glaze and painted with crimson enamel. Slovakian, Holitsch (Holic),. about 1750-1770.

The plate has a concave rim with a rococo waved edge. The centre is decorated with a scene of ruins, with a tree in the foreground, round the rim are large and small sprays of flowers and leaves, all painted in crimson.
