Physical description

Plate, large well, sloping sides, large rim, tin-glazed front and back, painted with a composition of eight figures in a landscape; Minerva and the Muses; in a countryside landscape Minerva on the left walking toward the muses holding a staff, to the right the muses, some seated, ready with their musical instruments, a seaside landscape with an island with a village and a mount. Painted in blue, orange, yellow, manganese purple and green. Covered in a very shiny glaze.
Reverse inscribed "le noue Muse"(the nine muses).
