Object history
Some of the motifs on this dish, such as the alafias and the pine-cone, recall those on fifteenth-century lustreware. Typical also of mudéjar pottery is the horror vacui, with every available space being filled with some kind of decoration. Purchase. Formerly Henry Wallis Collection. Ray (2000).
