Production | Dated 155.. last digit could be 6,8,9 or possibly 5. See R. Lightbown 2 A. Caiger _ Smith_ Piccolpasso_ Vol II, Pl. 6 J Mallet, 03.11.2003 Badly broken and old repair. Good glaze, some firing problems. Marked IN TERR DURANTIS (inscription led), M incised on the bottom after firing. Look in T. Wilson articles on Castel Durante ware (Urbania conference book, 2003) with classical medallion, classical figure. |
