Production | Surely by Giulio da Urbino? J.V.G.M. 03.11.03 J Mallet Painter who signed pieces with the same handrwriting "In Verona" "In Urbino", probably a pupil of Xanto. 'Bianco sopra bianco' decoration around the centre. Unusual shape and red clay, badly potted. Two patches and bad overpainting, minor flaking. See Mallet in Gianbattista Siviero, Francesco Xanto da Rovigo e Compagni, 1987, p.103, plate 76 to 78. Illustrated comparative pieces. |
