This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the Exhibition at Brussels held to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Belgian independence. The medal shows Leopold II, King of Belgium in profile and a wreath.
It is made by Charles Wiener in Belgium in 1880. Charles Wiener (1832-1888) was the brother of Jacques and Leopold Wiener of the Wiener family, a Jewish-Flemish family of artists and engravers.
