This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the centenary of Jean Jacques Rousseau's death. On the obverse Rousseau is shown in profile with the legend 'J.J. Rousseau, Citoyen de Genève.' On the reverse there is an inscription within a wreath and the dates 1778-1878.
