Brief description | Silver and glass, London hallmarks for 1820-21, mark of Paul Storr. |
Physical description | The circular frame stands on a circular foot with a chased border and encloses a tapering, cut-glass bowl. The border of the foot is chased with stylized laurel; within is a band of grapevines on matted ground, with applied beading above. The gadrooned rim is supported by a frame of three vertical bands of vines with bunches of grapes; there is a small pendant foliate wreath at the top of each vertical element. The slightly domed, detachable cover has another band of vines on matted ground around the border and a bunch of grapes as a finial. the cover is engraved with a crest. |
