Oil on rock crystal with an engraved silver gilt
Brief description
Double-sided miniature of a lady, oil on rock crystal, English school, 1590-1600.
Physical description
Oval double-sided miniature portrait of a lady wearing a lace ruff with her hair dressed with jewels. On one side she wears a green and gold dress and on the other she wears a red, green and gold dress. The miniatures are oil paint on rock crystal and the pendant rim frame is of silver gilt (mercury gilt silver).
