Replica Warwick vase, silver-gilt, Paul Storr, 1814.
Physical description
Two handled vase of shallow 'Kantharos' form, chased with foliage below and masks, lion pelts, spears and clubs above, standing on a square plinth resting on four diminutive fluted feet and engraved with a coat of arms twice and Latin inscription.

    To James Mc Grigor, Knight, Doctor of Medicine, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and Inspector General of the Royal Hospitals; a wholly distinguished man whether you consider the sharpness of his mind or the enormous and unflaggin effort he put into his duties as inspector, when performing these duties far and wide, in Portugal, Spain, and France, he would never fail to attend not only to the public with singular integrity but also to his fellow workers with a distinct friendliness and a kindness that was all his own
