The rich, rose pink jersey fabric of this sleeveless evening dress drapes and flows in soft gathers around the body, supported solely by the simple halter neck. The supple material falls dramatically from a single point at the front where the concentration of gathers is caught neatly with a few stitches. The minimal construction and seaming on this nevertheless complex dress relies on the light and fluid knitted fabric taking its form and structure from the body beneath. Off the body the garment resembles a limp, almost shapeless, length of luxurious fabric, but once on, it is animated and made unambiguous by the figure underneath.
The theatrical cut, clinging fabric and rich colour of Yukis’ draped evening gowns call for wearers with great confidence and style.
