This oval medal depicts King Charles I in profile. On the reverse side there is a similar bust of Queen Henrietta Maria within a laurelled border.

This is an electrotype copy of a seventeenth century medal. Electrotyping, a form of casting which uses electricty to make a close copy was pioneered in the 1840s.
