This round bronze medal depicts Napoleon . On the reverse side Napoleon is shown addressing his soldiers who are dressed in classical costume. In the exergue an inscription reads 'Allocution à l'Armée. L'armee fait serment de vaincre, XII. Octobre MDCCCV.' [Speech to the Army, The army took an oath to conquer 12th October 1805] The medal is signed ' Denon direc. Andrieu f'.' [Denon designed it, Andrieu made it].
