This octagonal bronze medal depicts Napoléon Bonaparte in profile. In the exergue, an inscription reads '28 Floréal, an 12. 18 Mai, 1804.' On the reverse side within a wreath is the inscription 'Chambre de Commerce de Paris, 6 Ventose, an 11. 25 Février, 1803.'

Ventose was the sixth month in the French Republican Calender, which started between February 19th and February 21st and ended between March 20th/ 21st. It was named after the Latin word 'ventosus' meaning windy.
