This gilt brass medal depicts Admiral Boscawen with the inscription 'Adm. Boscawen took Cape Breton.' On the reverse side the British ships are shown before Louisbourg with the date Jul. 26, 1768.'

Boscawen (1711-1761) was a British Admiral and politican. This medal celebrates the capture of Cape Breton in 1758, for which he received the thanks of the House of Commons.
