This round bronze medal depicts 'John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough'. On the reverse side there is a figure of Victory and trophies with the legend 'Vbi aderat ibi victoria.' In the exergue is the inscription 'Ob 27 Jun. 1722. nat ann 74.'

John Churchill was a prominent English soldier and statesman whose career spanned the reigns of five monarchs throughout the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He died in June 1722.
