This round bronzed pewter medal depicts Adolphus Frederick Duke of Cambridge, K.G and states '45 years Col. of the Coldstream Guards'. On the reverse side, the inscription reads 'Presented by his family to [names of 12 serjeants of the 1st and 2nd battalions] who fulfilled the wishes of their Col. in carrying him to the grave, July 16th, 1850.'

Adolphus Frederick, Duke of Cambridge was the tenth child of George III and Queen Charlotte. He served as Colonel in Chief of the Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards from 1805.
