Tent band, cut and made of two lengths stitched together, countered with some single and brocaded soumak.

WARP: white cotton; Z2S; 64 threads per inch (248 per dm counted as 124 per 5 cms).

WEFT: Foundation: white cotton; Z2S; 22 threads per inch (82 per dm). Pattern: wool; 12 colours: red, light red, yellow, dark green, green, dark blue, blue, purple, dark brown, brown, light brown, cream. Irregular movement.

SIDE FINISH: returned wefts.

END FINISH: cut

DESIGN: the piece is decorated in bands except for two, full width peacocks, one blue, the other dark red. Six bands are filled with geometric designs on a dark blue background and completely worked in soumak; eight bands are of multi-coloured floral sprigs; the other bands have small, geometric designs.
