Physical description

Painting, in opaque watercolour and gold on paper, a ruler is shown surrounded by his noblemen in strong colours and bold compostion which is typical of Rajput paintings influenced by the Mughals. The ruler wears a white pagri and jama over pink trousers, yellow cummerbund and blue, flowered gold patka, and sits on a carpet with pale yellow ground, smoking a round-bodied bidri huqqa. Six nobles with swords and shields sit facing him on the right, fourteen other nobles and attendants sit or stand on the left. In the background is a line of trees, and sky above. All four edges have been cropped, and some repairs have been made.
