The strikingly decorated borders on this album page are very close in style to those in an album that belonged to the Swiss engineer and collector Colonel Antoine Polier, and this page may also have belonged to him. Most of those album pages are now in Berlin. Polier was a well know figure in 18th-centiry lucknow, and the painting is in the style of Mihr Chand, one of the foremost Lucknow artists of the time.
