Party dress with wrist corsages, specially designed for H.R.H. Princess Elizabeth. Pink net with a pointed waist band which holds a full net skirt scattered with pale blue flowers. The bodice is high-necked with a heart shaped yoke and short puffed sleeves, and a flower decoration on the left side of her neck.
Norman Hartnell was best known as one of the couturiers to the British royal family. From the late 1940s to the 1970s he designed a wide range of clothes that Princesses Margaret and Elizabeth wore for their official duties.
