'Erik Reiff was one of a small group of young potters who joined the Bing & Grøndahl studio in 1953. He produced a series of bowls and vases in Chinese style decorated with freely brushed patterns and incised work. He benefited from the influence of Gertrud Vasegaard’s connection with the company, and over the next 10 years he experimented and developed his own highly personal style in stoneware. The flower in the mark is Reiff’s personal symbol.'
