Object history
The provenance is the grand-daughter of Francis Skidmore.
Production
The design was possibly designed by Skidmore, himself, because it is drawn directly onto the page of the album treating it as a sketchbook whereas most of the other designs are on pieces of oiled paper which have been pasted in at a later date. This design is in a style earlier than the Art Nouveau style of the designs which have been pasted in. There is, for example, a design for an ironwork bracket in the album in the Art Nouveau style which is dated '11th of October, 1899'.
