Oustanding progress proof before all letters of an exceptionally rare unpublished engraving.
Historical context
It is unknown whether the source of this design was Lucas's own, or was from the hand of his principal patron, John Constable. Current academic opinion favour Lucas as the originator of this design. (Quoted from label on reverse of image.
