This is one of several artworks by Miljenko Horvat that were shown at a Computer Arts Society conference and exhibition held in 1973. Entitled Interact: Machine: Man: Society, the event took place at Edinburgh University. The text of the catalogue says:

"The original images were created, drawn and manipulated on the digigraphic screen of a CDC 1700 by means of a conversational program by Serge Poulard. Photographs of these images were taken and transferred to a silk screen and a very limited edition of serigraph prints were made.

MILJENKO HORVAT was born in 1935 in Yugoslavia and now lives in Montreal, Canada. He is a graduate architect and has exhibited his art works in many shows in Canada and Europe."

Conversations 1, 2, 3 and 4 were also included in the Tendencies 5 exhibition held in Zagreb from 1 June - 1 July 1973.
