Carpet end of pile and kelim.
WARP: dark brown hair, some white wool; Z2S; depressed; 18 threads to the inch (72 per dm).
WEFT: yellow wool, some dark brown; Z spun, unplied; 2 parallel threads to each shoot and 2 shoots after each row of knots; 8 knots to the inch (30 per dm counted as 15 per 5 cms).
PILE: wool; 6 colours: red, yellow, green, dark blue, brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 72 knots to the sq. inch (1080 per sq. dm).
SIDE FINISH: left-hand side has one cord oversewn with brown wool. Right-hand side is cut.
END FINISH: lower end is cut. Upper end has 5 cms. of plain weave: first blue, then red alternating with brown and twice with green before final 2 cms. of dark brown goat's hair knotted fringe with evidence of plaited threads.
DESIGN: There are two bands:
Lower: alternating diagonal blocks of red and green.
Upper: blue field with red/green flowerheads within white squares separated by re/yellow flowerheads.
