Historical context
Reproduced in `Punch' Punch, 27 February 1897, p.103. The subject of the cartoon is the reluctance of Britain, France and Russia, who had originally guaranteed the freedom of Greece, to support the Greeks in their stand against the Turkish threat of war over Crete.
