This is a relief probably made in France in about 1540-1550. The frame of this relief is made in Italy, about 1500-1520. The panel is in hone-stone, carved in high relief with the Virgin and Child surrounded by angels playing on musical instruments. The frame is in carved walnut wood, of Roman Doric architecture, with an escutcheon bearing the Medici arms.
