This Romanian marionette of a dressed peasant woman is carved from two different types of wood and is constructed in a traditional method with wooden head, yoke, hands, legs and feet, with stuffed cloth body and arms. It has metal eyelets in each side of the head for string attachment.

Physical description
Marionette of a Romanian peasant woman, carved and painted, with metal head-string eyelets on either side of the head. Carved from soft wood for the head body, possibly pine, and hard wood for the legs, possibly beech. Rolled and varnished paper hair, with cream jersey sprigged bodice, metallic ribbon at neck and wrists, a silver metallic fabric triangle on her bodice, and tan coloured cotton knee-length breeches with holes at the knees for leg strings
