Object history
Formerly Tait Collection

Historical significance: The particular sprig designs used here are thought to be an indicator for a Bristol origin to the wares on which they are applied. The putti, modelled after Hackwood, are also found on the 1818 Bright Goblet in Bristol City Museum. In addition the refined clay used, the potting and brown freckled dip are all characteristic of Bristol wares.
