Object history
Label on the base: Bought from Durrant at Lindfield. Sold to him by a man called Cook, whose father-in-law, Beard, had worked for Mr. Mitchell at Lewes, before he took over the works at Cadborough in 1840. Beard said this pot was a trial piece for their glazes.

Made in Cadborough, near Rye.
