Puzzle jug of red earthenware with decoration incised through a white slip under a yellowish glaze splashed with green. Globular with tubular loop handle pierced with two holes below and communicating with the base of the jug and with an orifice on the lip; the short neck pierced with seven holes. Incised design with formal tulips and other flowers and on the front the inscription: Fill this pot of liquor sweet for it is good when friends do meet. William Farrant 1791.
