Mug of lead-glazed earthenware transfer-printed with black enamel and over-painted with enamels. Cylindrical in shape with a loop handle. Inscribed at the top with 'TYTHE IN KIND OR THE SOW'S REVENGE' with a clergyman collecting tithe and being attacked by a sow in a pigsty. Two labourers with a woman and two children are watching the clergyman who lies on the ground and saying 'The fattest Pig it is my Due / Oh ! Save me from the Wicked Sow'. A paper projecting from his pocket is inscribed 'Tything Table'. Painted in red, blue, yellow and green.
