Mug of cream coloured lead-glazed earthenware decorated with a print in black enamel depicting Admiral Duncan's flagship Venerabletowing Admiral de Winter's flagship, Vrijheid, captured at the battle of Camperdown, 1797. Cylindrical in shape with a loop handle. Below the print are the names of the ships 'DE WINTER'S SHIP, VRYHEID' and 'DUNCANS SHIP, VENERABLE', with the verses 'Vain are the Boasts of Belgick's sons / When faced by British ships & guns / Tho de Winter does in Autumn come / Brave DUNCAN brings his harvest home'.
