Object history
Originally made as bough pots or bases for Argand lamps, the porcelain tops were added in the 19th century and are transfer-printed with the name of the retailer, 'J. & A. Bradley, 47 Pall Mall, London'. The reliefs of Blind-man's-buff were designed and modelled by John Flaxman in 1782.
