Bell-shaped with three small vertical loop handles round the lower part. Below the rim rums a two tier inscription, in white, dotted brown slip on white ground. On the lower half of the body the handles alternate with vertical applied strips of brown clay with horizontal indentations. Between each handle and adjacent strip is a cross-hatched pine cone motif flanked by vertical leaves, executed in white slip on the blackish-brown body. The inside of the pot is lined with white slip.

Brief description
Posset pot of reddish earthenware covered with white and brown slips and with applied slip decoration. Made by Robert Pool. English, Staffordshire, about 1710.
Physical description
