Jug, ovoid form with a short neck and loop handle, made of dark clay firing to a reddish colour in places and covered with a strong olive-green glaze. The neck has a slight lip at the mouth and is decorated with columns of sgrafitto strokes. Below this is a ring of small applied prunts. Three rings of larger prunts encircle the body at its widest point. Above these are two birds, a pair of shoes and scrolling ornament, all incised. There is also "16RS86" executed in small prunts. The handle has incised lines, appplied prunts and a strip of clay pinched into tight folds below it.
