Historical context
Streaky green glaze inside only. Are common in England and on the Continent in the early post-medieval period. Are invariably carinated at or just below the mi dpoint of the profile. The majority are ribbed just above this carination. There generaly 3 or 4 ribs and grooves, which may be quite pronounced. Some are quite blackedned up to the rim but 60% are clear so seems more used for eating from and not for cooking from. Seem more suited to solid rather than purely liquid food.
Production
Made on the Surrey/Hampshire borders.
