Historical context
SD.899 was made when Rundle was Commander under Captain Henry Broadhead on HMS Brunswick, August 1856 to September 1858. See Beach's of Salisbury and Marshall Spink, exhibition/sale catalogue, 1973, (81); (includes two others by the same artist).
