Costume design by Desmond Heeley (1931-2016) for Dawn in Act III of Coppelia, performed by London Festival Ballet in 1984. Female figure wearing a bodice and tutu in shades of beige, yellow, white and orange, and a matching floral headdress. She holds a small sickle and a bundle of hay. Signed and dated. Accompanied with a note on squared graph paper with the following inscription: 'My dear David, can you find room for this? Sadly not able to have had the sea adventures but what tales to tell - Will speak, see and write more coherently than today - Bless you for believing. Love Des'.
