Manuscript diary (79 pages) from April 1801-July 1803, mainly of social engagements, work at the Lyceum, receipts and expenses, and references to paintings such as The Storming of Seringapatam, The Siege of St. Jean D'Acre, The Battle of Alexandria, The Battle of Lodi, altarpieces, and other works. At the back, 50 pages of transcripts of correspondence in 1799 and 1800 by leading military figures, mainly Sir Sidney Smith, on the Napoleonic campaign in the Near East, including the Siege at St. Jean D'Acre and the French evacuation of Egypt, also the Mutiny of the Janissaries in Cyprus. Bound in green vellum
